Start with Foundations: Handbuilding + Wheel Basics. You’ll learn clay preparation, centering, simple forms, trimming, and safe studio workflow. No prior experience required—tools and clay are included for in-studio sessions.

Bring comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dusty, an apron (optional), and closed-toe shoes. We provide essential tools and a starter kit; you’re welcome to bring your own favorite ribs or trimming tools.
Recommended
Hand towel, water bottle, hair tie, small notebook.
Please avoid
Loose jewelry, long sleeves near the wheel, open shoes.

How long do kiln firings take?
Typical turnaround is 7–14 days depending on kiln schedule, drying time, and glaze queue. We prioritize class work and notify you when pieces are ready for pickup.
Fast-track tip
Thin walls + even thickness dry faster and reduce cracks. Ask your instructor for a quick thickness check before storing work.

Do you offer online classes, and what do I need?
Yes. Online sessions focus on handbuilding, surface design, and form planning. You’ll need low-fire or air-dry clay, a small set of tools, and a phone or webcam. Firing can be arranged via local community kilns or add-on studio firing (where available).

You can reschedule a class session with 48+ hours notice (subject to availability). Cancellations made 7+ days before the start date are eligible for a refund minus processing fees. Within 7 days, we offer credit toward a future session.

Most studio courses are designed for ages 16+. Younger students may join selected family workshops with a guardian present. If you’re unsure, use the quick-question form and tell us the student’s age and goals.

How do you handle cleanup and clay dust safety?
We use wet cleanup only—no sweeping of dry clay. Work surfaces are wiped down with damp sponges, and reclaim buckets are provided. We’ll show you how to prevent airborne dust and keep your tools clean without damaging the studio.
Safety note
If you have asthma or sensitivities, tell your instructor and we’ll recommend a station with optimal airflow.
